It's impossible not to compare yourself with other parents, I think.
I long ago decided that everyone has advice about parenting, whether they have kids or not, and that just because someone believes that they should raise their children in a certain way, I don't have to do the same. I won't criticize their parenting decisions, and they shouldn't critcize mine. For instance, I know I will always be a working mother. And sometimes I might regret that I don't spend all day with my kids, but I will make the most of the time I do have with them.
It only bugs me when someone makes hurtful comments about my parenting, whether the comments are directed at me or not. (What kind of a mother would ?)
Have faith in your abilities as a parent. You know your child best, so you decide what best for your family.
