Well, the response in my last entry as to whether or not I should go to a certain symposium was overwhelmingly in favor of me going. And considering that the one vote against was me, well, I guess you could say it was unanimous, even.

One mentor I spoke to about it said that it couldn't hurt. Another said, "if the National Academies offers to pay my way to go somewhere, I go." A third said, "hey, I got invited to something just like that, except in France! I'm going, are you?"

So I guess I'm going to California in December. Poor me. ;)

Cool beans! Where in CA? If you find yourself within striking distance of Santa Cruz, we should get coffee/lunch. Or, you could come hang out at the UCSC astro morning coffee/paper thing. Or, both! (Yay, science!)

It's in Irvine, not the Bay Area. But, I should go visit Santa Cruz sometime, anyway! Maybe you could suggest me as a speaker or something... :)
