Parent-teacher conference, DS1, grade K

DH and I went to our parent-teacher conference with DS1's kindergarten teacher. Sounds like he's doing well, though he's a bit of a day-dreamer and doesn't always finish his work in class. He's reading at a first-grade level, and they're planning to pair him with the one other kindergartener who's also an advanced reader to form their own little reading group. He's also doing accelerated math. Since he's in the Spanish dual-language program, they're having him spend more time with the Spanish-speaking room for extra enrichment, which I highly approve of. He's good-natured and eager to please, but prone to toileting problems unless his teacher keeps an eye on him. His teacher commented that he didn't seem pressured to achieve, but rather self-motivated and interested in learning, which tells me that we've done the right things with him. We didn't hear anything we didn't already know or expect, so all in all it was a good meeting.
(And yes, I am feeling a bit smug.)
