I meant more of the former, in the nomer's attempt to assess preschools. If you only take kids from families who are very involved with their children, it's a confounding factor. What gains can be attributed to the preschool as opposed to the family?
But Astra seemed to think it was more about checking whether the child was ready to handle the school environment, which I do think a responsible school would do.
