Sangria is banned in Virginia.

Okay, so it's based on an obscure prohibition-era law that prohibits the mixing beer or wine with spirits, but it shouldn't be too hard to overturn, right? Right?

Here's a quote from the article:
"We're a little nervous of expanding the law," said House Minority Leader Ward L. Armstrong (D-Henry), who served for 16 years on a committee that wrote alcohol laws. "We're a conservative state and a conservative legislature. Some of that's good. Some of it's bad."
(Emphasis mine.)

This is where I burst out into mocking laughter. Bwahahaha!
