He can read!

DS1 usually goes and plays with his train set in the mornings while I shower and get dressed in the morning. So this morning, he was playing and chattering away to himself, and suddenly he said, "Cow, C-O-W!" So I stopped and asked him, "how do you spell cow?" just to make sure I wasn't hearing things. And he told me, "C-O-W, cow!" And he's not going to turn three for another month yet!

In other news, we have a house now! Yay!!!! No more house-hunting trips!! It's going to cost us a small fortune, but any house we liked was going to be pretty pricey... Now we just need to sort out how to deal with the fact that the closing date is almost two weeks after the closing date for our house here, plus we have a wedding to go to in Seattle in that period. And what are we going to do with the two cats??? Mmmmm, fun with logistics...

Aargh!!

We lost the house. :(

Another bidder both outbid us by $10,000 and was willing to let the sellers rent back through the end of September. Since my job starts 9/1 and pre-school begins 9/7, that wasn't really an option for us. *sigh*
