high heat index + cold front = BOOM!
Jul. 28th, 2005 10:12 amWe had a big thunderstorm last night. Lots of wind and rain and lightning, though not as much as what we got late Sunday night/early Monday morning. But it knocked out the power in the middle of getting dinner ready. Good thing we have a gas stove. Power was back by 5am this morning, so hopefully the food in the fridge is all still good.
I saw a lot of fallen branches on my morning jog, including a tree whose two big branches had come down, leaving basically just an 8-ft tall stump, barely missing a house. Well, at least it looked like the house was still standing, though I expect the roof sustained some damage. Luckily, we are all fine -- just twig-and-leaf debris, no big branches on our property.
