And so begins another school year...

Today is actually DS1's second day back at preschool. And both kids immediately fell back into the old routine. In fact, DS1 had a fit this morning when I opted to take a back road to avoid heavy traffic on the main road. Yes, he still remembers the route to school, even though the drive is half an hour long and we haven't done it in 2.5 months. It's as if he never took a break for the summer.

DS2 is getting quite insistent about getting what he wants. For instance, this morning he clearly indicated to me that he wanted some string cheese from the fridge. Then, when I told the kids to put on their shoes, he grabbed his water shoes (the kind meant for splashing around at the beach) and brought them over to me to put them on. And you know, there are some battles that just aren't worth fighting.
