Take Your Kid to Work Day

Actually, I had no idea that today was Take Your Son Or Daughter To Work Day. DS1's school is having orientation today and tomorrow for next year's batch of kindergarteners, so the current batch of kindergarteners have these two days off. I brought DS1 to work with me because I'm cooking for lunch club this week, so I figure I'm not getting much real work done anyway. He's good at emptying the dishwasher and rinsing fruit, though! He's getting really good at keeping himself busy -- he can read to himself now! And he pulled out his addition/subtraction flash cards without prompting.

It may sound all exciting to have an astronomer for a mommy, but all she does is sit in front of a computer all day. And if she's a theorist, she doesn't even go observing in exotic locations and get to stay up all night long. Poor kid.
