The nice thing about living in the DC area for one of the biggest Inauguration Days in history, is not just that downtown DC is an easy metro ride away, but also that I get the day off from work for it! So I braved a quick drive over to the metro station this morning... and drove right past it to my friend's house, because she's got a big screen TV and cable.
So no, I didn't freeze my tail off along with millions of my closest friends, but spent it in a warm living room. Unfortunately, I didn't get to hear much of Obama's speech because a four-year-old someone was whining for food, or drink, or scissors, or glue, or paper, or something.
So, now I'm going to go downstairs and see if our VCR did its job at noon.
