Not a bruise?

So, maybe this isn't a bruise after all.

First, I should say that the lighting in the picture doesn't do justice to the color.

Second, it's really more of a reddish-brown than the blue-black of a bruise.

Third, the whiter area closer to my thumb is now swollen a bit, though it wasn't swollen last night. The red area looks like it might be radiating away from the white area.

Fourth, don't google for images of "spider bite," especially at night in an unfamiliar state.

I'm really ready to go home now.
