DS1 dressed up as a ghost for Halloween. At some point about a month ago, he told me he was going to be a ghost for Halloween, and was very consistent about it -- whenever you asked him about it, he'd say he was going to be a ghost. He even knew that we needed a sheet for the costume!
I took him trick-or-treating and he had a good time, but he was about the only kid out on our entire street. The only kids (other than our own) who came by were a trio of teenagers who showed up around 8:30. I asked them, "where are your costumes?" and one girl waved around a headband with animal ears attached to it. So I grudgingly gave them some candy, after all we had so much, but come on. The houses we visited also seemed to have a surfeit of candy, so who knows where all the kids were. Everyone also seemed to think I was out with my daughter...? At least I got to meet some of our neighbors for the first time.
Now what to do with all this leftover candy...
