I suspect it is someone we all know, with either a desire to remain anonymous, or a desire to enjoy watching us suffer in our own curiosity. Really, that doesn't narrow it down very much...

You could easily assemble that list of friends by looking at a bunch of mutual friends (say from a MindMap) and going from there.

Were I to assemble a friends list of everyone on LJ I know at least a little it would look remarkably similar to that one. Range of ages doesn't mean terribly much if you've been around MIT for a while and friend everyone you can identify.

My guess is it's some froshly type who is getting a huge kick out of all of us wondering who zie is. Just don't friend 'em back, and you won't have to worry about potential stalkerlyness (anymore than you did before they showed up)
